Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to demonstration the role of digital transformation in improving payment methods and means in Algeria, this is done by focusing on the reality of means, and examining the prospects and challenges facing this transformation, the study employs descriptive and analytical approaches, and also presents the experiences of leading Arab countries (Tunisia, Oman and Saudi Arabia) in the field of digital transformation of payment methods, in order to benefit from their strengths, modern payment methods and means are of great importance and play effective role in enhancing competitiveness, achieving financial inclusion and building a digital economy. The study results also showed that withdrawals and payments transactions using bank cards have witnessed a significant increase in both volume and value in Algeria, especially in recent years, Specifically, after Algeria post joined the automated payment pool in 2020, given the Algeria Post Gold Card considered the dominant card compared to other bank cards, and others modern payment methods.
