Résumé
Algerian literature has kept pace with all the developments taking
place in the Arab and international literary arena. Its arena has witnessed
the emergence of many different literary genres with all their peculiarities,
with each group embracing a specific literary genre, including what is
related to confessional literature such as notes, diaries, HeteroBiography
and Autobiography, However, the autobiography did not have outstanding
luck, interest and appearance compared to other races by virtue of its nature
and components, which led to the absence of a strong literary personality
that has the courage to allow it to embody the principle of disclosure and
recognition, and if any, it takes the character of identification. In other
races, and perhaps the matter is related to the environment of creativity and
its authority over the writer in its social, cultural and ideological dimension.
Accordingly, we focused our attention in this research on the art of
autobiography by trying to root this gender in modern Algerian literature in
its origin and development in light of the privacy of the creativity
environment, and searching for its most important writers and their most
important works, in addition to holding an approach to a group of works
from the perspective of literary criticism and its mechanisms. And precisely
in the framework of stylistics and the theory of reception
In this research we worked on an approach to three Algerian works, which
are: “Sira al-Muntaha… I lived it as you desired,” by “Wasseni Al-Araj”,
“The Gate of Memories”, by “Assia Jabbar,” and “My men” by Malika
Moghadam .The study concluded that the autobiography in Algerian
literature is still in its nascent stage, where it is widely restricted compared
to other races.
You can hardly find a work bearing the gender mark "an
autobiography", and this may be due to the environment of creativity that
governs the ethical character and social norm, and the nature of the
Algerian literary personality that has not yet opened to the spirit of
openness and recognition in addition to the predominance of the authority
of the reader and society.
On the technical level, we have found that the autobiography is not
related to simulation, but rather is related to reality. Fiction may be present
within its structure, but it does not take only a stylistic form away from the
narrative material and its events.
