Summary Postcolonial theory is considered one of the most important contemporary critical and literary theories that emerged in the twentieth century, as it links discourse and politics and overlaps with many knowledge and sciences. It carries a social, cultural, political, historical and literary character. It is a theory that does not depart from the postmodernist trend.
