Abstract

The social structure is distinguished as a set of relationships that are established between its members, aiming to preserve the social structure and link individuals to each other. The individual has the right to choose a partner for married life, and this is what our work aimed at researching the values that determine the choice of a partner for members of the educated class, professors of higher education and scientific research at Ammar Thaleji University in Laghouat. For this purpose, the study came to verify the following objectives: • Identifying the level of partner selection criteria for a university professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Laghouat. • Knowing the extent to which the cultural level influences the choice of partner among the educated elite. • Knowing the difference between the sexes in choosing a partner for married life among the educated elite.
