Abstract
Abstract
This research aims to find out the reality of adopting and applying the modern
marketing concept in the Algerian institutions. This is through the study of trends of the
Algerian industrial sector officials towards the adoption and application of the modern
marketing concept.
The study relied on a random sample of small enterprises and medium-sized
industrial food sector, where after studying and analyzing the answers respondents, we
arrived at multiple results including that:
- Officials in the Algerian industrial sector have a wrong awareness and conception
about the modern marketing concept and the importance of its application as most of
them consider that marketing is interested only in increasing demand for the commodity
and sell it and it only cares about the announcement and advertising of the product to be
sold. In addition, they consider doing research about advertising, product and distribution
channels as additional cost rests with the institution's budget.
-Most of the enterprises in the industrial sector do not practice modern marketing
activities, an orientation market, dividing the market into segments, marketing research,
and management of the relationship with the customer. Their managers see that according
their real experience they know what the consumer needs and therefore do not need to
conduct marketing studies. This does not comply with the fundamental basis upon which
the concept of market orientation is built. In addition, regarding to dividing the market
into segments ,they have a wrong understanding assimilates that dividing the large
market segmentation into sub-markets, where every branch contains consumers of the
same desires and needs and motivations of purchase, costs the organization an
indispensable budget.
The study also concluded that there are many obstacles that prevent enterprises in
the Algerian industrial sector from the application of the modern marketing concept.
They are as follows:
• The focus on the productive technical skills and the lack of focus on marketing skills.
•The shortage of highly qualified professionals in the field of marketing in the
organization.
•The rigidity of the current policies in the organization and the lack of flexibility in
adopting an other policy concerning the application of new concepts for marketing.
• Finiteness of training programs in the field of marketing.
