Description
This course offers an in-depth exploration of the dynamic and evolving
relationship between international law (IL) and international relations (IR). It
seeks to provide students with a foundational understanding of both disciplines,
analyzing how they intersect, diverge, and influence one another i n the
contemporary global system.
Through a multidisciplinary approach, the course addresses key theoretical
debates, legal principles, and political realities that shape the international
order. It begins with an introduction to the core concepts and historical
evolution of international law and international relations, progressing to
examine the role of the state as a central actor, the reasons states commit to
international agreements, and the influence of legal norms on global behavior.
