Abstract

empirical study related to the International Book Salon in Algeria(SILA) in its
24th edition. We mainly aim to know the nature of the relationship existing
between the Salon Governorate and the public who frequent its activities, and
the nature of the work plan, that was adopted in introducing it, in the absence of
a public relations aspect among the actors in the governorate, and the absence of
a body charged with external public relations tasks. To achieve these goals, the
study began with the following questions :
-How does the International Book Fair Governorate publicize Sila’s activities in
light of the absence of a public relations aspect among its actors?
-What are the repercussions of the absence of a body charged with external
public relations tasks at the governorate level of the International Book Salon ?
To answer these questions, we developed the following hypotheses :
The absence of a body charged with external public relations tasks at the
governorate level of the International Book Salon leads to the development of an
action plan that is limited to the media aspect alone in introducing Sila’s
activities .
The absence of a body charged with external public relations tasks leads to a
lack of information among the public who frequent Sila spaces .
Accordingly, we used interview and questionnaire techniques as basic
tools in collecting data. We interviewed the individuals organizing the
International Book Salon, and the questionnaire was distributed to the public
who frequent the This study reached the following results :
-The Salon Governorate relies on a work plan that is limited to the media nature
of introducing Sila’s activities, and therefore it is a one-way communication,
concerned with conveying information without concern for the feedback from
the public and their reactions .
-The absence of a relationship between the salon governorate and the public due
to the absence of a body charged with external public relations tasks concerned
with relations with the public and thus the absence of information for it .
